What if I can't find my instrument on the website?
If you don't see your instrument on the website, don't worry, we can still support it. Simply send us an email to sales@franek.com or give us a call at 1-800-326-6480 and we'll work with you to provide you with the appropriate power protection system for your application.

If I need to support additional instruments can I just plug them into an existing Franek LPS or do I have to purchase another LPS?
We typically do not advise our customers to plug additional instruments into LPS units that were not intended to support that instrument. Doing so can increase the electrical load on the LPS beyond its optimal operating capacity and could cause the LPS to malfunction. In addition, when multiple instruments share a common LPS there is an increased risk of electrical "cross talk", which can have a negative impact on the operation of the instruments.

Can I protect my instrument with a surge protector rather than an LPS?
There are dozens of different electrical power problems that can damage an instrument or corrupt the operation of the instrument. A surge protector can possibly protect the instrument from two of these. We say possibly because that is entirely dependent on the capabilities of the surge suppressor, and there are hundreds you must choose from.

How long will it take to receive my LPS unit(s) once I place my order?
We typically ship our LPS units within 3-4 days after receipt of order and you may expect delivery within 5-6 days after shipment.

How can I get a price estimate for an LPS unit?
Through our website you can select the instrument that you are looking to protect and then fill out the Quotation Request Form. Your Quotation Request will be processed by a member of the Franek sales team and will be emailed to you in a timely manner. Alternatively, you can request a formal quotation by calling us and speaking with a member of our sales team.

How much backup time do your LPS units provide? What if I need longer backup times?
Backup times vary depending on the LPS unit. "Optimal" backup times are typically 5-6 minutes, whereas "Extended" backup times are 30-40 minutes. For those laboratories that are equipped with an emergency generator system with an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) we typically recommend the "optimal" backup version. Battery extension cabinets are also available for purchase and can be added incrementally to fulfill backup times of up to 3 hours.
