Franek Technologies has a long history of providing unique solutions for our OEM clients and large laboratories.

Our initial custom engineering project included working with Baxter’s Paramax Systems Division’s R&D and Field Service Engineering teams, as well as their International Marketing Department, for their global launch of the Paramax Clinical Chemistry Analyzer. The FTI custom development work and design specification for a purpose built application, for Baxter’s Paramax analyzer, resulted in over 1,800 Paramax instrumentation placements worldwide. The FTI Cat III-3 LPS design from the initial application development work also substantially reduced Baxter’s field service calls and warranty expenses.

Franek Technologies was asked by Baxter-Scientific Products to list our (LPS/UPS) products in their giant catalog and to provide technical support for all their many clinical instruments throughout their market area.

Franek Technologies was also invited to consult with Applied Biosystems (ABI) and the Celera Genomics laboratory installations in Rockville, MD and Foster City, CA. Celera expressed a desire to minimize laboratory infrastructure while adding additional PCR, Thermal Cycler and DNA Sequencing instrumentation systems within their laboratories. Based upon FTI’s engineering recommendations and the unique features that were added to the FTI LPS devices in this installation, Celera was able to successfully increase their laboratory instrumentation placements up to 320 simultaneous instrumentation systems in their Rockville facility, while minimizing laboratory and project infrastructure.

The net result for Celera was their ability to successfully develop the genome database, while maintaining peak operational effectiveness with a minimal fixed asset base in their laboratories. In addition to reducing infrastructure, Celera and ABI realized substantial savings in operating and warranty expenses, as well as reducing overall field service costs for ABI.
